His father, Thomas Taylor, who was himself a former professional skateboarder, played a pivotal role in introducing Grant to the world of skateboarding. At the age of six, Grant stepped on his first board, and with his talent on a board quickly catching the attention of the skateboarding community, he soon found himself competing in amateur contests.

Thomas Taylor’s laid-back approach allowed Grant to explore all aspects of skateboarding, from vert sessions to street skating.

In 2009, Grant Taylor turned professional, shortly after his standout appearance in Nike SB’s skateboard skate video, “Debacle.” His spontaneous, all-terrain attack became part of his skateboarding DNA.

Grant’s crowning achievement came in 2011 when he was named Thrasher Magazine’s Skater of The Year. This prestigious title solidified his status as one of the most influential skateboarders of his generation.

Aside from skateboarding, Grant’s family plays a significant role in his life. His mother, Rachael Taylor, raised him alongside his two sisters, McKenzie and Sarah. In 2017, he married Lillian Jane Taylor in Atlanta, Georgia.
