Mark "Gonz" Gonzales, the company's founder and current creative director, is a skateboarder and artist. Gonzales is responsible for much of Krooked's visual identity and marketing. Transworld Skateboarding magazine issued a list of the "30 Most Influential Skaters of All Time" in December 2011, and Gonzales topped the list as the most influential skateboarder of all time.
Audiovisual works
Krooked's videos have been released in a wide variety of formats, including the first 3D (three-dimensional) skate video (Krook3d, 2010), a limited edition of 1000 copies of Gnar Gnar (2007) on the antiquated VHS video tape format, and digitally filmed versions of Krooked Kronichles (2006) and "Naughty" (2008).

The Wasteland of Van Wastell
On September 5, 2008, while on a European skate tour, Van Wastell, a former member of the Krooked professional team, died after falling from a balcony in Berlin, Germany. Since the skateboarder's passing, numerous events and articles have been held to celebrate Wastell's life.
