Zero Skateboards was founded in 1996 by professional skateboarder and entrepreneur Jamie Thomas. At its inception, Zero started as a clothing brand. However, Jamie’s vision soon evolved, and Zero transformed into a fully fledged skateboard brand.

Jamie Thomas left his previous sponsor, Toy Machine, to become Zero’s first professional team rider. His passion for skateboarding and desire to create something unique fueled the skate brand's growth

Zero Skateboards became synonymous with quality and performance, and some of the things they specialized in included:

Skateboard Decks: Zero’s decks were renowned for their durability and innovative designs. They pushed the boundaries of deck shapes and graphics.

Videos: Zero released seven videos, showcasing their team’s incredible skills. Notably, the premiere of their video “Cold War” took place in 2013, where every Zero rider, past and present, gathered on stage.

Thrasher King of the Road: From 2004 to 2006, Zero dominated the Thrasher Magazine King of the Road competitions, beating other top teams.

Zero’s team featured talented skateboarders who pushed the envelope:

Chris Cole: A standout rider and S.O.T.Y. winner.
Adrian Lopez: Zero pro and later head of the company Mystery Skateboards.
John Rattray: Known for his part in the “Dying to Live” video.
Garrett Hill: His part in the “New Blood” video left a lasting impact.

Fun Skate Trivia: The graphic of the skull used on Zero’s “Small Skull” or “Single Skull Mini” board bears a striking resemblance to the skull worn by Sid in the 1995 animated film Toy Story.

"Fish eye, punk rock, and bold ZERO decks. Feels like the '90s. :)"

"the sound of a tail click & grind to land is the greatest most satisfying sound in existence"

"Just seeing the opening font put the biggest smile on my face, then seeing the black bars on the side, no face zooming, no weird cinematic b roll after every other clip…I say that as not an old head, btw, just nice to see something different again!"

"I never comment on anything. However, this video compelled me to say: in a world of endless content, you lose lasting memories of what just happened, then , move on consume more content. I've been skating for 20+ years, and in 97-03' you had five videos to choose from and watched them over and over and over. Then you get another video 8–12 months later... This video took me back to that time and place before the world crushed my spirit. This video killed it. Jamie knows that look and feel that got me hooked on the wood. The vx footage, the music. Especially the spot selection of unique street. That must've been waiting 30+ years for someone to bring these spots to life. It takes YEARS to find these original landscapes for us. LOVE IT JAMIE!.. It is weird getting a hard on for vx footage makes me feel like a senior citizen In my community... Go outside and fucking skate!"
