Tensor Trucks is an American skateboarding truck company that was founded and designed by professional skateboarder Rodney Mullen in 2000. Mullen, a legendary figure in skateboarding, sought to create skateboard trucks tailored to the technical requirements of contemporary skateboarders. His vision was to develop trucks that would enhance flip tricks and provide better performance for skaters like himself.

Tensor Truck Features:

1. Baseplate Sliders: One of the most visible features on Tensor trucks (excluding the Response model) is the polymer baseplate slider. These sliders are replaceable and slide better than standard aluminum baseplates, making them ideal for nose and tail slides.

2. Interlocking Bushings: Tensor bushings use a patented design with a flange on the bottom bushing that connects to the top bushing. This stabilizes the truck and improves overall performance.

3. Baseplate Nibs: Tensor trucks feature four fangs on each baseplate, designed to dig into the board and prevent shifting when mounting hardware loosens.

4. Buttonhead Kingpin: Tensor implemented a grade-8 buttonhead kingpin with machined splines to prevent it from spinning in the baseplate. This design was lighter than the hex kingpin, which was the industry standard at the time.

5. Response Trucks: In March 2007, Tensor released the “Response” truck—an all-metal design that eliminated the plastic baseplate sliders. It was promoted as “the lightest truck” at the time. In 2008, Tensor pushed the boundaries further by creating their lightest design yet, using magnesium and claiming to be 25% lighter than the industry average.

6. Hollow Components: Tensor trucks feature hollow axles and kingpin bolts to reduce weight while maintaining strength.
