Foundation Skateboards started up in 1989, thanks to the vision of Tod Swank. He teamed up with Steve Rocco, who owned the skateboard company World Industries, to kickstart the brand. Initially, Foundation was distributed through World Industries for its first two years.

In a bold move, Tod Swank decided to relocate Foundation to San Diego independently. This decision marked the company’s transition into a standalone brand, allowing it to carve its own path in the skateboarding scene.

Team riders for Foundation Skateboards over the years include: Josh Beagle, Ronnie Creager, Brad Staba, Ethan Fowler, and Corey Duffel.

Foundation’s current team includes: Julian Lewis, Dakota Servold, Jesse Lindloff, Keegan McCutchen, Aidan Campbell, Liam Pace, Tania Cruz, Ariana Spencer, Ryan Hamburg, Austin Heilman, Ruby Lilley.

Some of the craziest handrails ever tackled, full-bore Corey Duffel assault, Dan Murphy is back (big time), Sierra Fellers flips out, ripping New Jacks like Dakota Servold, Ryan Spencer, Marquis Preston and Taylor Smith... plus Nick Merlino, with one of the gnarliest parts of all time."
