Bob Burnquist was born on October 10th, 1976, and hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has a unique heritage in that his father is American of Swedish descent and his mother is Brazilian, giving him dual citizenship in both Brazil and the United States.

At the age of 11, Bob started skateboarding in his hometown of São Paulo, and by the time he was 14, he had already turned professional.

Burnquist’s skateboarding talent lies in his mastery of switch stance (skating with the opposite foot forward) and his ability to create jaw-dropping vert tricks. His most iconic achievement came in 2010, when he became the first skateboarder to land a "fakie 900" - a crazy 900-degree reverse-natural rotation. This feat solidified his place in skateboarding history,

2001 X Games Vert Contest: In a jaw-dropping final run, Burnquist wowed the crowd and judges with previously unseen tricks, earning a near-perfect score of 98 out of 100. It remains one of the highest scores in any X Games skateboarding event.
2005 X Games Best Trick Vert Contest: He clinched gold with his famous Fakie 5-0 combined with a fakie kickflip off the grind bar.
Big Air Dominance: Burnquist consistently ruled the Big Air events, including victories in 2007, 2008, 2011, and 2012.
