In 1975, Ronald Bennett, an architect-engineer from Orange County, made skateboard history by introducing the very first trucks specifically designed for skateboards. These trucks quickly gained popularity among both professional and amateur skateboarders. What set Bennett Trucks apart were their Big Red Rubbers™, precision components, and exceptional turning ability. Bennett understood the limitations of conventional roller skate trucks and set out to make them more functional.

Bennett Trucks were renowned for their superior geometry, enabling hard carving and tight, snappy turns. Skaters loved the responsive feel and maneuverability these trucks offered. While many imitated Bennett’s designs over the years, none could truly replicate the unique performance and sensation of riding Bennett Trucks.

Dave Hackett: “Before there was Tracker, before there was Independent - there was Bennett trucks. Bennett trucks were (and still are) some of the most responsive skateboard trucks EVER produced. If you look at all of the early pool and ramp shots back in the day of all the Dog Town. Guys, myself, Olson, and Wally - We all rode Bennett’s because they were the best turning truck in the World.”

Interestingly, the first Independent Trucks (Indys) emerged in 1978, drawing inspiration from Bennett Trucks. Independent Trucks combined the turn of Bennett with the durability and adjustability of Tracker trucks. This fusion of features contributed to Independent’s success.

"Unfortunately, at the beginning of the 1980s, Mr Bennett and his trucks, Alligator wheels, and Lightbeam boards were left to the collectors to find. He exited the industry and that was that.

And so it was that around 2006, Mr. Bennett’s son, Brian along with his father Ron, decided to revive the brand and return to the industry."

Bennett Trucks Really Turn! Skate Video:

"New bennett's and a wood and wheels cruzer deck....also riptide bushings"

"wow. its like a soothing ASMR. love the sound"

"The Bennett trucks are, in my humble opinion, the best turning-ratio TKP trucks available for the price, the only trucks that can turn more than these trucks are Revenge Alpha (torsion trucks), Originals, and Carvers C7 and CX's (very expensive ones), so if you want to recreate an skatesurf skateboard/longboard for pumping try using Bennett Vector trucks in the front and Tracker RTS in the back (low cost alternative to Carver skateboards) you will need risers (angled ones in the front). Thanks for the video."
