Fucking Awesome started up back in 2001 by legendary pro skaters Jason Dill and Anthony Van Engelen. It wasn't until Jason left Alien Workshop in 2014 that he could dedicate more time to the skate brand, otherwise simply known as "FA".
"FA’s beginnings are rooted in NYC’s thriving 21st century skate scene. Before he fully embraced the brand as a legitimate company, Dill would rustle through bins for printable rubbish that looked good on a t shirt. He would then drop off his creations on Lafayette Street for Supreme to sell in their shop. It was in 2001 that Jason Dill, along with Anthony Van Engelen, would form the foundations for their brand - which they insist is not a clothing line, and rather an ideas company." In 2019, FA opened their first physical location in Los Angeles, on Hollywood Boulevard. They opened their second location in 2021, in Lower Manhattan, New York City.
FA has collaborated with various brands over the years, including: Adidas, Vans, and Independent Truck Co. They have also collaborated with celebrities such as Chloë Sevigny, who played Jennie in the legendary 90s skate movie: Kids
FA team rider Dylan Rieder was a professional skateboarder and model who was a founding member of the Fucking Awesome team. Rieder died in 2016 due to complications from leukemia. He is frequently memorialized by the company.
Team members of Fucking Awesome past and present include: Jason Dill, Anthony Van Engelen, Kevin Bradley, Gino Iannucci, Sage Elsesser, Elijah Berle, Aidan Mackey, Louie Lopez, Beatrice Domond, Curren Caples, Jake Anderson,Dylan Rieder (RIP), Kevin Terpening, Tyshawn Jones, Na-Kel Smith, Sean Pablo, Vincent Touzery, and Caleb Barnett.
Fucking Awesome Skateboard Videos:
Fa/Hockey Fight/F*** Ii the Movie
"filming the conversation straight to the sean pablo kickflip is the coldest thing i've ever seen."
"I worked at the building at 6:24 the cats name is fishy, i still have videos of him somewhere its a fish warehouse that needed beams to be installed in the basement."
"its pretty sick how a few seconds before someones gunna try a trick he films other random stuff going on around the spot like what the other fa dudes are doing or just random people in street and then he pans over to the person doing the trick. its makes it interesting and shows you what skating in manhattan is like."
"this is literally everything I could have asked for from a skate video."
"Strobeccc is a gnarly filmer, prolly one of the most stylistically distinct I know of rn like the Quentin Tarantino of skateboarding. he's like regressing from everything we've been told skateboard videos are supposed to look like, fluctuating with the way skating is now, with technical skating becoming less important and standing out with style mattering more. I can't tell how I feel about this video and I'm glad"
"I like the use of the long lens in this video. Nowadays, I think filmers overuse the fisheye. Great video, I'm gonna go skate now."
"The editing/cinematography is amazing."

"I love that this corporate sponsored event was fucking mayhem"
"Kickflip and the 360 at the end were absolutely insaneeeee dude. I would have went apeshit if I saw that in person lol."
"Grant Taylor skating this FA Demo made it look too fun and it got me real hyped to go skate now"
"Right back to the 80's skate jam, only bigger..."
The Story behind Jason Dill and Fucking Awesome | Hypebeast Diaries
"Jason Dill is perhaps one of skateboarding's most colorful figure -- his influence spans beyond board tricks and appearing on skate vids as he's also renowned as an accomplished entrepreneur with his brand Fucking Awesome, also simply known as FA. We caught up with Dill in Los Angeles where he recently opened FA's first store on Hollywood Boulevard. In our video coverage, Dill talks about how his vision for the shop came all together and how having a board wall with a black velvet backing was something he's always wanted. Star skaters Na-Kel Smith and Louie Lopez also make an appearance as they explain their respect for Dill, Fucking Awesome and his overall influence on skateboarding culture.
At his home, the 42-year-old former New Yorker speaks to us about his own philosophies on life and how that "raging stupid" that he had at a young age was the driving force for FA. "I'm not in a hurry like that person was (young Jason Dill), that person was in a real, real hurry in ways I can't identify with anymore," Dill explains. "I didn't want to do a full-blown company at any point in my life and then that happened. And I think things in life that are really great and worthwhile are worth taking the time to do -- they aren't exactly what you had planned. I think it kind of asserts itself in your life and I think that's what FA is for me.""
"i do not think today's skaters are comprehending how precious FA is. People are gonna look back at FA years from now just the way we look back at old alien workshop videos."
"Always nice to see some classic Dill flatground tricks"
"jason back at it again with that red cardigan"
"It would be sick if John Malkovich played Dill in a movie and Dill played John Malkovich. Directed by Spike Jonze."
