Element Skateboards (originally known as Underworld Element Skateboards) was born in 1992 thanks to the vision of Johnny Schillereff. Driven by a desire for a fresh and positive path for skateboarding, Johnny set out to create this special skateboard brand.
Element evolved beyond being just a skateboarding company. It became a lifestyle brand rooted in creativity, environmental consciousness, and a deep passion for skateboarding culture. This ethos set Element apart from the rest at the time.
Element specialized in crafting high-quality skateboard gear, including:
Skateboard Decks: Their decks were renowned for their durability and innovative designs. Trucks: Essential for smooth turns and stability during tricks. Wheels: Element wheels provided the perfect balance of grip and speed. Griptape: Ensured skaters stayed firmly planted on their boards. Apparel and Footwear: Element’s clothing and shoes reflected the skate lifestyle.
In 2014, Element created and moved to The Branch, a vibrant creative space in Costa Mesa, California. Here, artists, skaters, and creators converged, fostering innovation and community.
Notable Element Skateboards Team Members have included some legendary skaters:
Nyjah Huston, Bam Margera, Mike Vallely, Brandon Westgate, Greyson Fletcher, Ethan Loy, Gabriel Fortunato, Jaakko Ojanen, Madars Apse, Mark Appleyard, Nick Garcia, Tom Schaar, Donny Barley, Vitoria Mendonca.

"music mix is so good. hadn't seen this for over twenty years and everything was right there, every beat, every scratch."

"Brent atchley’s part always made me want to skate very when I could barely drop lol. One of my favorite parts ever, song and style"
"Watching this now after Nyjah’s success the last decade, he is truly a special talent. You forget how gnarly he is in the streets because we see him in contests all the time how. Amazing to see the journey."
"I remember watching Nyah’s part and I right away knew Element had struck gold. The gnarlyness of his tricks was the craziest stuff since Ryan Sheckler was introduced to the world scene"
Underworld Element: E.S.P. VOL.2 Skateboard Video
"The Element team delivers an audiovisual experience of global proportions, covering the continents in four exciting chapters. Gabriel, Vitoria, Donny, Funa, Jaakko, Nick and their accomplices don’t disappoint."
"the amount of creativity and fun that being expressed here makes me want to skate so bad"
"For some reason that front crook down Hollywood got me all emotional - the reaction in person wasn’t even that crazy, but it just felt like an important moment in skating. Madars’ nosegrind is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen and last trick was unreal. Always love the Element team, the filming and the editing are perfect - one of the best skate videos of the year to me"
"The cinematography in this. The sound music effects. The lighting. The composition. The unique skating to go with it all. It's absolutely amazing."
"So amazing to see women shredding. Seeing the girls that grew up in the mid 2000s to a more accepting culture, can't wait to see them progress even more."
"I didn't even notice that 25 minutes had passed. Great video! Let's see more!"
"This whole video was amazing, but shout out to the ladies. Vitoria got a mean ass heelflip. Funa’s front crook was picture perfect. Women’s street skating is going to evolve like crazy over the next few years."
"This is surprisingly above what I expected when pressing play. It feels like one of those old VHS skateboard film you had as a kid and you watched every time you went out to skate. Feels like their heart and soul was put into it."
