Joey Tershay and Steve "Shrewgy" Ruge established ACE trucks in 2007. With their combined expertise, they set out to make the most advanced trucks in skateboarding history. While conceptually straightforward, the actual implementation of this proved challenging. ACE overcame difficult beginnings to assemble a talented team whose success paralleled that of the company's namesake brand.

Joey Pulsifer joined ACE as its third partner in 2017 and brought with him some fresh ideas for enhancing the durability and utility of the trucks. In April of 2021, ACE unveiled the AF1, the world's most powerful cast truck. This would be a turning point in the history of the company, ensuring its status as one of the most sought-after truck manufacturers in the world.
